Groton police find missing child near train tracks

Groton — Groton Town police Saturday found in the vicinity of the train tracks a lost 9-year-old child who had been reported missing in Noank.

Police did not identify the child, acccording to department policy.

A police dog led searchers down neighborhood streets, through some backyards and along the water before the child was found unharmed.

Police credited the work of the dog and its handler in the success of the search.
