State Rep. Diana Urban, D-North Stonington, has been named a "Children's Champion" by the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance for the fourth year in a row.

Urban chairs the legislature's Children's Committee. The alliance said she received the recognition for her strong commitment to early childhood issues, especially her work supporting School Based Health Care Centers. This year she is promoting legislation to expand child care options for working moms.

The alliance is a statewide membership and advocacy organization committed to improving developmental outcomes in the areas of learning, health, safety and economic security for children ages birth to 8.
