Sandusky defense digs deep into accusers’ pasts

Harrisburg, Pa. - The alleged victims of the Penn State child sexual abuse scandal are finding there isn't much in their pasts that the defense isn't trying to find out.

The defense wants to know their IQs, how well they did in school and even their medical histories. The quest for information about the accusers suggests their credibility may be pivotal in the upcoming criminal trial of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Court documents show Sandusky's lawyer is seeking Internet search histories, Facebook account details, employment-related documents and cellphone records. Prosecutors say they've turned over some records and don't have others, arguing many requests aren't proper under state law. A hearing on defense subpoenas and pretrial discovery are expected to be addressed today.
