A recently attended Groton Board of Education meeting offered the following:
Chairwoman Kirsten Hoyt walking down a long hallway with Superintendent Paul Kadri and the school board attorney.
Hoyt then reads a motion: "A motion to have an investigation conducted regarding the superintendent's interactions with and treatment of district employees. The superintendent will be placed on an administrative leave during the investigation. We authorize the board chair, in consultation with the school district attorney, to arrange for the services of an investigator."
The public is shocked and many just shake their heads.
Friends for Affordable Education PAC encourages the Groton board to quickly resolve this matter and do what is best for Groton. FFAE is watching the district's communications, personnel relations, and the public's faith in these and the budgets. Effective leadership at all levels is necessary.
The school board should act expeditiously, ethically and fairly to do what is best for the Groton community. This is the lesson: A vision for quality education for students, satisfied teachers and leaders, and an affordable cost to the community. This is paramount at this time.
