Economic outlook up slightly

State business leaders were slightly more optimistic about Connecticut's economic outlook in the first quarter than they were at the beginning of last year, but a survey by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association released Monday found little change in expectations over the past three months.

None of the executives polled expect a significant improvement in the state's economy, but fewer people expected Connecticut's business climate to worsen than when leaders returned surveys for the same period last year. Results showed, however, that individual industry outlooks fared slightly worse in the first quarter compared with the same period in 2011.
