Ledyard— Police used a Taser to arrest a local man on Friday who they said refused to follow their orders after he was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident.

Steven Deluca, 52, of 35 Highland Drive, was charged with violating of a restraining order, third-degree assault, interfering with an officer, threatening and criminal trespass.

The Ledyard Police Department were called to a home on Highland Drive Friday, shortly after 10 p.m. Deluca had already left the residence.

Police say they found Deluca inside his vehicle in the Highland Lake parking lot on Shewville Road. Officers saw that Deluca was harming himself with an edged weapon, according to police, and he would not comply with their commands.

Officers used a Taser to take Deluca into custody. He was treated at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and then released back to police. He is being held on $25,000 bond and will be arraigned at the G.A. 10 courthouse in New London.
