Last week, I asked readers to submit their picks for the restaurant I should review next in The Day. Well, I received a plethora of suggestions, from Gaspar's in New London to Aqua on the Water in Clinton.

Some of the restaurants had to be scratched because they were reviewed recently or are currently being reviewed (a review of Kitchen Little Bistro at the Mystic Marina is running on Friday).

But the list was long and great, so I will certainly return to it in the future.

Given that it's the end of spring/early summer, for this review I thought I'd pick a place with a good range of seafood options and an overall beach/waterfront feel to it.

Two suggestions that really caught my eye were The Pleasant View Inn in Westerly, brought to my attention by Virgina McCormack, and Fresh Salt at Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook, suggested by Christine Dagata.

Both places boast a waterfront atmosphere. Fresh Salt has views of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, while Pleasant View Inn is located on the Watch Hill end of Misquamicut Beach.

Pleasant View Inn looks like they have some great meals: baked flounder stuffed with lobster, fresh Block Island Cod and broiled bomster sea scallops. But, then again, the Fresh Salt menu items don't look to shabby either: olive oil roasted Chatham cod, grilled Block Island swordfish chop and fresh salt cioppino (shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, tomoato saffron sauce, cappelini, crusty ciabatta).

So it looked like it was going to be tough for me to decide on my own. So I put a poll at the top of this story. So cast your vote in what I'm calling "The Battle of the Inns" and whichever restaurant gets the most votes will be the one I review.
