Norwich – Police on Friday arrested a “highly agitated” city man after he allegedly tried to punch a police officer.

Cesar Antonetti, 36, of 401 West Thames St., was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer and assault on a police officer.

Police said Officer Peter Karasuk was inside the city’s Department of Social Service office on Friday when he saw Antonetti become highly agitated and argumentative with a security guard. Karasuk approached Antonetti, who police say then tried to punch Karasuk. After a brief altercation, police said Antonetti was taken into custody. Karasuk received minor injuries which did not require medical attention, police said.

Police said Antonetti is held on $10,000 bond.
