FRANKLIN'S GENERAL STORE IS BUSINESS OF THE MONTH

Mystic - Franklin's General Store is the June recipient of the Business of the Month award from the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

Franklin's General Store was founded in 1985 as one of the early tenants of Olde Mistick Village. Eighty percent of its revenues in 2011 came from products made in New England, and nearly 40 percent from products made in Connecticut.

Franklin's has increased its effective workforce by more than 30 percent in the past four years, providing employees with benefits and incentives that reward hard work and results. Upon transfer of ownership in 2008, all employees were retained and within 30 days were given a pay increase.
