Blues-rock/slide guitar sorceress Bonnie Raitt, touring behind her new album "Slipstream," hits the Mohegan Sun Arena Saturday.

"Slipstream" contains a pretty wonderful version of Gerry Rafferty's "Right Down the Line," and Raitt, who is a master of the rousing in-concert set list, should skillfully blend fine new material with fan favorites.

Expect Raitt, who's won nine Grammys, to break out "Nick of Time," "Something to Talk About" and "Time of Our Lives."

A true bonus: singer Mavis Staples opens the show, which means the whole evening packs serious fireworks potential.

(FYI, while Raitt is one of the finest slide players out there, Sonny Landreth is maybe better. Since Landreth plays June 18 at the Kate in Old Saybrook, you can catch both concerts and then compare and contrast!)
