Fight in NL leads to arrest of Old Lyme man

New London - Police arrested one man following a fight between two men in the area of 223 Ledyard St. Saturday night.

Kyle Mathis, of 26 Walnut Road, Old Lyme, was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace, police said. The victim was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries, police said.

The two men were reportedly drinking when an argument ensued and escalated into the assault, police said.

Mathis is on parole and was remanded back to a state correctional facility, police said.
