Mystic - Mystic Aquarium has announced that it will kick off its inaugural Summer Drive-in Movie Series on June 28 with a showing of "Titanic," on a 40-foot screen in the aquarium's gravel parking lot on the corner of Coogan Boulevard and Jerry Browne Road.
The movie's sound will be heard through car radios and hot dogs, popcorn, soda and ice cream will be available for purchase.
The parking lot will open at 8 p.m. and the movie will begin an hour later. The aquarium will admit 140 cars. The cost is $20 per car and advance tickets can be purchased at mysticaquarium.org.
The aquarium recently opened a new exhibit, "Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below," to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking.
The family-friendly movie series is slated to continue in August with dates and times to be announced. The screen will be put up and taken down after each showing.
