On June 9 my daughter picked me up to drive to my grandson's Special Olympics competition at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. We were detained getting over the Baldwin Bridge for 30 minutes, missing his first event. He won a Silver Medal. Also a Bronze Medal and a 4th place ribbon for his other two events.
Until recently, I was totally unaware of this beautiful event and I want to note my appreciation for the many volunteers, coaches and all who made it possible. Shuttle buses provided information and travel to events. Refreshments and restrooms were available. It was well organized. God bless all involved.
