Growing up in Dallas, the Trinity River separated the dry neighborhoods from where you could buy liquor. A lot of, ah, alcohol enthusiasts, then, clustered around the river. Not a lot of art going on. The Hudson River? That's a different story. In fact, check out "On Hudson: Highlights from the Albany Institute of History & Art," a new exhibition that opened last week at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, and here's David D. Coughtry's "North Elba" (above). In exchange, Flo Gris will send an exhibition to the Albany Institute in the fall of this year. Through Sept. 23. For info, call (860) 434-5542, ext. 111, or visit florencegriswoldmuseum.org.
