Mystic road closure announced for Monday

Mystic – A section of West Main Street from High Street to Bank Street will be closed Monday, but police said all businesses along the roadway will be open.

The closure will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a marked detour route available. Police said all eastbound traffic on New London Road will be diverted south onto West Mystic Avenue and then north onto Noank Road. Westbound car traffic will be diverted south onto Water Street to Noank Road and then north onto West Mystic Avenue. Westbound truck traffic will be diverted south onto Water Street to Noank Road, then to Elm Street and north onto Groton Long Point Road.

Police said from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, no parking will be allowed on all of Water Street and the northernmost portion of Noank Road.
