Panera Bread gift to cancer support

Howley Bread Group Ltd. has announces that 12 of its Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Connecticut, including ones in Waterford, Lisbon and Groton and at Foxwoods Resort Casino, donated more than $10,000 in the first quarter of 2012 to its Operation Dough-Nation partner, the Connecticut Sports Foundation, based in Old Saybrook.

Panera has donated more than $185,000 to the foundation in the past three years.

The Connecticut Sports Foundation is a non-profit corporation that raises funds to assist struggling cancer patients and their families with living expenses. Donations can be made at any counter canister at participating Panera Bread restaurants.
