The Scorpions rock Mohegan Sun

It's time the truth came out.

You know the whistling part in Scorpions' 1990 power ballad "Wind of Change"?

Yep. It's me.

The song was composed by Scorpo vocalist Klaus Meine and, ordinarily, he'd have recorded the whistle. As most folks know, though, you can't eat crackers and whistle at the same time, and Meine had locked himself in the control booth with a 12-pack of oyster crackers - binging.

I was called in, puckered up, and did the whistle section in one take.

Now, all these years later, Scorpions, one of the greatest metal bands of all time, is on a farewell tour that stops in Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday. This should be a strictly-hits affair, and that's good. They've got the catalog, and we've got the ears. All hail greatness.

Tesla opens.
