Let the music play at OpSail and Sailfest

Let's say for a moment there was no OpSail and/or Sailfest this weekend. No sky-masted schooners and colorful sailors, no briny processionals or carnival rides or comet-like pyrotechnics or even 15 separate but equally wonderful trips to the fried-dough vendor.

If all that was left was the various and attendant live-music events booked to provide an OpSailsian soundtrack - well, you'd still have a helluva good time.

Herewith are the official OpSail and Sailfest music listings, along with a select offering of shows in the area that might add to your overall sonic enjoyment.

Of special note: The time-honored, pre- and post-fireworks sets have always performed by The Reducers. In the aftermath of the death of Steve Kaika, the band's bassist, New London's Incognito Sofa Love, will step into the hallowed spot.
