OpSail parking, shuttle schedules and roadway disruptions

Free parking for OpSail2012 Connecticut is available in a series of designated satellite lots, with shuttle service to Fort Trumbull, City Pier and State Pier. The satellite lots and their drop off/pickup points are:

New London High School, 490 Jefferson Ave.; Destination: City Pier

Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Road; Destination: City Pier

Crystal Mall, 850 Hartford Turnpike., Waterford; Destination: Fort Trumbull

Ocean State Job Lot, 128 Boston Post Road, Waterford; Destination: Fort Trumbull

Connecticut College, 270 Mohegan Ave., New London; Destination: Fort Trumbull

Buses will begin taking visitors from the lots at 7 a.m., Saturday.

In-city shuttles will loop among the three venues, beginning running at 8 a.m.

The bus schedule for moving people within the city proper during OpSail is 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5p.m. Sunday.

Street closings in New London

Saturday, 6 a.m. through Sunday, 7 p.m.

State Street between Eugene O'Neil Drive and Bank Street

Bank Street between Tilley and State streets

South Water Street. Traffic flow on South Water Street will be reversed (northbound). Only emergency vehicles, delivery vehicles, business owners (east side of Bank Street), Amtrak and Fishers Island traffic will be allowed to use this street.

Fort Trumbull

This location will have control access points at Trumbull Street at Nameaug Street and East Street at Walbach Street. Only authorized vehicles going to Fort Trumbull will be allowed past these points.

Walbach Street will be limited to parking on the south side of the street only. Signs will be posted.

State Pier

State police troopers will be at the intersection of State Pier Road and Crystal Avenue. Only authorized vehicles will be allowed access to the State Pier and state boat launch.

Eugene O'Neill Drive, between Governor Winthrop Boulevard and Tilley Street, will be closed Saturday between 6 and 11 p.m.

Eugene O'Neill Drive will be closed from Governor Winthrop Boulevard to State Street on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. for a road race.
