    Hebron Lions Annual Night of Giving

    Recently, the Hebron Lions Club held its annual Night of Giving at the Hebron Lions Fairgrounds. Over 30 invited guests were present at a reception, dinner and charitable giving ceremony.

    Following the dinner, Lion Charities President, Rich Griswold hosted the presentation of charitable donations to the Lions Club International Fund (LCIF), Boy Scouts of America, Relay For Life, AHM Youth Services (Andover, Hebron, Marlborough), AHM Youth Services Project Graduation, Russell Mercier Hebron Senior Center , Hebron Interfaith Youth Services (HIHS), Douglas Library of Hebron, Wishes on Wheels for children with Cancer, Camp Rising Sun for children with Cancer, Lions Low Vision Center, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Fund (CLERF), Greg Caron Family, Diabetes, Camp Hemlocks Easter Seals Camp, Fidelco, CRIS, Camp Rising Sun for children with Cancer, Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, Willimantic Lions Club, Colchester Lions Club.

    In addition, this year the Hebron Lions Club contributed to the Greg Caron Family Fund, donated $3500.00 to the Wounded Warrior Project and made donations to Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, Connecticut Low Vision Center, Leukemia Foundation, Sons of the American Legion, RHAM (Sports Boosters, Foot ball, Basketball, Dance Team), Tyler Cormier Scholarship, Energy Assistance I Hebron. The club has and continues to assist with other charitable requests.

    These donations total over $130,000 and were made possible as a direct result of the Hebron Harvest Fair, Maple Fest Pancake Breakfast and the many other events sponsored by the Hebron Lions Club. The Hebron Lions are very appreciative of the public support given to these events.

    Special awards were made to John Johnson, Sr. and Bill Levy for their contributions to the Hebron Lions Club.

    The first Night of Giving was held in 1988. Since the inception of the Hebron Lions Club in 1969, the Hebron Lions have donated over $2.3 million to community, state, national and international charities.
