The boards of education in both East Lyme and Salem have started a review of a 14-year-old cooperative agreement that sends high school students from both towns to East Lyme High School.
East Lyme Superintendent of Schools James Lombardo and Salem Interim Superintendent Dr. H. Kaye Griffin said in a statement that the cooperative agreement is set to end in 2018.
They said both towns will review if any changes should be made to reflect changing needs of the two communities. Meetings will be planned to give the public a chance to discuss the cooperative agreement and potential changes.
Salem also recently appointed Joseph Onofrio II to be the district's next superintendent of schools. He has held the same position in Old Saybrook since 2006.
