Residents of New London County receive free admission to the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme from Tuesday, July 17, through Sunday, July 22. Visitors must show proof of residency.
It's all thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.
During Community Free Week, New London County residents can enjoy the special exhibition "On Hudson: Highlights from the Albany Institute of History & Art." They can also tour the historic Florence Griswold House, stroll through Miss Florence's historic gardens, and relax along the banks of the Lieutenant River.
The museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Sat. and 1-5 p.m. Sun. (Admission is usually $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $7 students, and free to children 12 and under.) Call (860) 434-5542 or visit FlorenceGriswoldMuseum.org.
