Old Saybrook, Westbrook, and Old Lyme fire departments are on the scene of a residential structure fire on 1 Pheasant Hill Lane.

According to Day staff reports, the garage of the two-story colonial home has burned to the ground. The interior of the home is gutted and a part of the second floor on one end of the home has collapsed.

Fire departments are still dousing the portion of the home where the garage was. Portable water tanks are set up on Pheasant Hill Lane and are supplying two fire trucks and one ladder truck with water.

The home is less than 100 yards from the intersection of Ingham Hill Road.

Mill Rock Road West and the intersection of Ingham Hill Road is where police and fire personnel have closed access to the residents living there, according to Day staff reports. Emergency personnel have shut down Elm Street between Ingham Hill Road and Route 1 because fire personnel are filling fire trucks at a pumping station on Elm Street.
