Norwich – When you see the Life Star helicopter heading for the Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium Saturday, don’t think a Connecticut Tigers’ player, coach or fan needs help.
The Tigers minor league baseball team announced a unique pre-game event for Saturday, bringing a Life Star helicopter to land in the stadium parking lot at 5:45 p.m. The helicopter crew will meet fans at the front gate from 6 to 6:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m. the helicopter will take off from the parking lot to land in the outfield. The crew will bring the ceremonial first pitch ball to the mound. The Tigers game against the Lowell Spinners, the Class A minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox begins at 7:05 p.m. Fireworks will follow the game.
The Life Star event is weather-permitting and contingent on Life Star’s availability.
For information and tickets, call the Tigers at (860) 887-7962.
