Cheryl Galloway of Seaport Tax Services, LLC in Mystic has passed the Internal Revenue Service's enrolled agent exam covering all aspects of federal taxation. The award of the enrolled agent (EA) designation recognizes demonstrated knowledge and assures clients that the agent is up to date on the latest tax law changes and can represent clients before the examination division of the IRS.

To retain the status of an enrolled agent, individuals must complete a minimum of 16 continuing education credits per year, and a total of 72 CPEs in each three-year cycle. Enrolled agents are also governed under stringent rules set forth by the IRS.

Chelsea A. Corn has joined Chelsea Groton Bank as an ambassador to the community. She will participate in various events to raise community spirit. She most recently attended the 4th of July parade in Groton.

Chelsea Groton Bank is a mutually owned bank with 14 locations throughout New London County.

The Connecticut Tigers will host the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce Thursday. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Every attendee receives a ticket to the game at Dodd Stadium starting at 7:05 p.m.

Builders Association of Eastern Connecticut will hold its annual golf tournament Thursday at Great Neck Country Club in Waterford. The price is $150 per person or $600 per foursome.
