    Stonington borough tours to focus on upcoming film

    Stonington - The Stonington Historical Society will sponsor boat and walking tours of the borough that will focus on sites featured in the movie "Hope Springs," which is set to premier Aug. 10.

    The society will hold boat tours at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, leaving from Dodson's boatyard. The boat tours are sponsored by the Stonington Borough Merchants Association and Dodson's. The movie-themed walking tours will leave from the Old Lighthouse Museum at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12

    "Hope Springs" is a romantic comedy starring Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Streep and Steve Carell. Much of the film was shot in the borough last summer.

    Each boat trip is limited to 20 people. Reservations can be made by calling (860) 535-8445. Tickets are $25 each. Reservations are not needed for the walking tours. The cost is $7 per adult and $3 for children.
