Coast Guard Ice Patrol welcomes new members

New London — The U.S. Coast Guard International Ice Patrol welcomed five new members during the summer transfer season.

Lt. Eric Thompson, the new Ice Information Officer, reported from Sector Anchorage, Alaska. Thompson did a previous tour at the Ice Patrol as a marine science technician. Marine Science Technician Second Class Dan Morrissey, who previously was stationed at Sector Southern New England in Providence, R.I., also reported to work in the Ice Information Branch.

Lt. Rob Marquardt, the new Ice Operations Officer, reported from Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley in Kodiak, Alaska. Marine Science Technician Second Class Wes Savage, previously stationed at Marine Safety Detachment Ketchikan, Alaska, and Marine Science Technician Second Class Marc Harrell, previously stationed at Marine Safety Unit Savannah, Ga., will also work in the Ice Operations Branch.
