WILLIMANTIC — State and local fire marshals have determined that someone intentionally set a fire in Willimantic that injured three residents and six firefighters this week.

Windham Zoning Enforcement Officer Matthew Vertefeuille says the Windham and state fire marshals have ruled Tuesday's fire an arson, and state police are investigating. No arrests have been made.

Three residents were taken to hospitals. Officials say a woman rescued from the burning home by firefighters remains hospitalized in critical condition and another resident remains in stable condition. A third person was treated and released.

The six injured firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the arsonist or arsonists.

Anyone with information about the blaze is urged to call state police.
