Digging for dinner

Keith Baker of Haddam rakes for clams Wednesday in the cove between Esker Point and Groton Long Point. Baker and his family drove down for a day of picnicking, clamming and relaxing. He says the peck of clams he gets will provide dinner later this week as well as some for the freezer for clam chowder during the winter months. "There is nothing like fresh clam chowder in the winter," he said.
