Shame on The Day for printing such a slanderous letter, "What about corruption by East Lyme leader," (Aug. 3). While the paper's disclaimer will push the blame of such inaccurate dribble and defamatory statements to the writer, The Day should take more responsibility and care to the content it is printing (and selling).
Comparing Mr. Formica's running for Congress to the bribes involving congressional candidate Chris Donovan in Hartford isn't even in the same ballpark and should not have been printed.
Trying to say that any sitting government leader seeking an additional term or campaigning for a higher office is corrupt is ill-informed, naive and sophomoric.
Ask anyone; Paul Formica works harder than any town leader you can name, and he shall make a terrific congressman.
