The Republican candidate for the 38th House District seat has received $25,000 from the Citizens’ Election Program.

Anthony Siragusa will face incumbent Democrat Betsy Ritter in November. The 38th House District covers Waterford and Montville.

Siragusa said Friday that he needed to raise $5,000 in donations from 150 residents in Waterford and Montville to become eligible for the money from the election program. As the election process moves along, Siragusa said he is working on printing brochures, securing sign placements and is scheduling radio interviews.

He was also nominated by the Independent Party at their convention on Aug. 19 to be on the independent voting line. He said has earned enough registered voter signatures to earn a place on the ballot for November and those signatures are being validated by the state.
