Coast Guard band schedules outdoor concert

New London — The U.S. Coast Guard Band will perform its last summer concert of the year, an outdoor concert at Fort Trumbull State Park Sept. 2 at 5 p.m.

Cmdr. Kenneth Megan will be promoted to captain before the concert and will then lead the band through a program of jazz pieces by Cy Payne, Nat King Cole, Eden Ahbez, Rutz and Gimble and Kenneth Hesketh. The band will also play pieces from the movies “E.T.” and “Indiana Jones.”
