Stonington — A Norwich woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle suffered what police described as non life threatening injuries late this afternoon after it crashed on Route 1 east of Elm Street. She was transported to Westerly Hospital for treatment.

According to police, a Coventry, R.I. man was driving the motorcycle east on Route 1 about 5:45 p.m. when a vehicle pulled out of Fleming’s Feed and into its path. The driver of the motorcycle slid it to the ground to avoid impact.

The vehicle fled the scene and the two people on the motorcycle were not able to provide police with a description of it. The driver of the motorcycle refused treatment.
