7 Stonington borough homes to be featured in historical society tour

Always wanted to get a look inside some of Stonington borough's historic homes?

Your chance comes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Stonington Historical Society will host Behind Stonington's Doors, a walking tour of seven homes in the Federal, Greek Revival and early 20th Century styles.

One of the homes reflects the lifestyle of a wealthy merchant while another has been the location for three movies: "Mystic Pizza," "The Iron Lady" and "Hope Springs."

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day the day of the tour. A preview party will be held Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. Tickets begin at $75.

There will also be a privately guided 90-minute tours of three additional homes by local architect Mark Comeau at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Oct. 5. Tickets are $50 per person.
