New London Highway Department employee Chris Startz removes cardboard Tuesday from a storm drain on Broad Street between Connecticut Avenue and Parker Street.

Startz said cardboard that had been put out for recycling collection was washed into the street by Tuesday's rains, clogging the storm drains in the low-lying areas and raising water levels to as much as 2 feet.

State and local police, with the exception of New London, did not report any issues with flooding.

In New London, some streets were flooded, including Bank, Blinman and Broad streets.

The forecast for today includes more clouds, humidity and showers, with a high temperature of 77 degrees.
