East Lyme — A woman was arrested Tuesday after police said they found her 3-year-old son roaming the streets.

Jennifer Rogers, 27, of 56 Oakwood Road, was charged with risk of injury to a minor.

East Lyme police said they received a call from a concerned citizen reporting that a young child was walking around the Giants Neck Heights neighborhood alone with a dog. The incident happened around 12:18 p.m.

The child was not able to tell police where he lived. After police canvassed the area, they found the child’s mother, who was sleeping.

Rogers was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Sept. 25.
