Waterford - North Stonington's Todd Ceravolo, substituting for reigning track champion Keith Rocco, captured the completion of the Budweiser Modified Nationals SK-150 on Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl.

The race was held over from a racing card that was halted by rain on Sept. 1.

Ceravolo started Saturday's race in the back of the field. He took over for Rocco, who started the Sept. 1 race, but was later suspended for the rest of the season for an altercation after the race was stopped.

Ceravolo, who spun out on lap 55, climbed all the way back to eighth by lap 85 and eventually moved into third behind race leaders Justin Gaydosh and Rob Janovic Jr. of Waterford.

Gaydosh held the lead before Janovic made his move to the outside on lap 141 between turns one and two. The two made contact, with Janovic going hard into the wall.

Gaydosh received a penalty for overaggressive driving, handing the lead to Ceravolo, who held on for the final nine lap sprint to the checkered flag, hold off defending champion Woody Pitkat.

Division point leaders Tyler Chadwick of Ledyard and Jeff Pearl of Salem finished in third and fourth place, respectively. Rocco was officially credited as the driver of record after starting the race on Sept. 1.

Waterford's Dillon Moltz won the second of two 35-lap Late Model features after finishing second to Anthony Flannery in the first race while Walt Hovey captured the Street Stock event, Jeff Cembruch won the Mini Stock feature and Joey Ternullo won the Legend Cars feature.
