There's no rest for the weary tonight as the Connecticut Sun, less than 48 hours removed from a 93-82 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, complete a three-game West Coast road trip against the Seattle Storm (9 p.m., no TV).

Despite the tough loss, Connecticut (22-9) maintains a 1.5 game lead over Indiana for first place in the WNBA's Eastern Conference with only three games remaining. The two teams play Wednesday night Mohegan Sun Arena in a likely winner-take-all contest.

The Sun, despite the return of center Tina Charles, couldn't overcome a dominating effort by Candace Parker on Friday night.

Parker had 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Sparks pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Charles, who missed the first game of her WNBA career on Wednesday at Phoenix with a groin strain, finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, her league-leading 17th double double of the season.

Connecticut pulled to 81-80 on Kara Lawson's 3-pointer and Parker came back with a layup off a pretty pass from Toliver. Parker added a pair of free throws and scored on a reverse layup to give Los Angeles an 87-82 lead. The Sun missed on the ensuing possession and Ogwumike banked in a shot. Alana Beard got a steal with less than a minute remaining to seal the victory.

Connecticut committed 21 turnovers.

"This was a major disappointment tonight, because that's what you need to do better to win in the playoffs," Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "We've been a low turnover team all year, but in a couple of our losses, we've had bad turnover games that have come back to haunt us, and this is one of them."

Renee Montgomery finished with 15 points and Tan White had 11.
