Mystic Fire Chief Frank "Fritz" Hilbert was reelected as the president of the Connecticut State Firefighter's Association during the 129th Annual Convention held Sept. 15 in North Haven.
Hilbert has served on the association's executive committee since 1998.

CSFA was organized in 1883 to assist the fire service in the state. The association represents more than 26,000 active career and volunteer firefighters.

CSFA assists with legislative monitoring and lobbying activities for firefighters.

"This is an organization chartered in the 1880's by the state legislature to speak and advocate for the fire service in Connecticut," said Hilbert. "I appreciate the rich history and service of the association and am honored, humbled, and proud to serve as their president."

Hilbert has been a member of the Mystic Fire Department for more than 40 years and has served as its fire chief since 1989. He is a commissioner with the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control, and has served in various capacities with many local and regional fire service organizations.
