City hosts free fishing derby Saturday

Norwich – The Harbor Management Commission will host its first King of the Docks fishing derby at Howard T. Brown Memorial Park Saturday to promote shore-based fishing in the harbor.

The derby, with no entry fee will run from 6 a.m. to noon for shore-based anglers only on the docks of Brown Park. A trophy will be awarded for the largest fish caught for the day.

No advanced registration required, and registration will be open throughout the morning.

The event is sponsored by Thayer’s Marine and RV.
