The Lynx (above), a War of 1812 privateer square top sail schooner, has arrived on the East Coast from Hawaii and California and is scheduled for a five-year mission along the East Coast, the Great Lakes and Canada, where she will participate in celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The 122-foot square top sail schooner Privateer Lynx, with its eight-member crew in period dress, will fire a salute from her main battery of six-pounder carronade deck guns upon Lynx's grand entrance, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at New London Waterfront Park. Following its grand entrance The Lynx will be available for public tours as well as sailing excursions around the New London waterfront.
