Citizens can register to vote Tuesday, Oct. 2, at voter registration sessions sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, Academic Building lobby, Groton, and from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, St. James Episcopal Church, 76 Federal St., New London.
To register, bring a driver’s license or official government ID or write in the last four digits of your Social Security number. To vote on Nov. 6, all citizens must show identification: Any preprinted form of identification, which shows the elector’s name and either the elector’s address (license, government ID, electric bill, etc.) or name and signature (Social Security card) or name and photograph (passport).
Citizens can register at their town halls and mail-in registration applications are available at the Department of Motor Vehicles and public libraries.
