Mystic - Navy carrier pilots from Attack Squadron 93 will be reunited in Mystic this week.

The squadron flew some of the first combat strikes against North Vietnam in 1964. The aviators flew from the carriers USS Ranger, USS Enterprise and USS Hancock from 1964 and 1967.

The reunion will be held Oct. 8 to 11 and the group includes several pilots who became high-ranking officers and distinguished leaders and two pilots who were held as prisoners of war in North Vietnam after being shot down.

According to one of the coordinators, the veterans meet annually to remember the years they shared together in service of the nation and pay tribute to those left behind.
