Council 4 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has announced its endorsement of  Emmett Riley for the 46th House of Representatives, which represents the urban and southern sections of Norwich.

AFSCME represents 35,000 employees in state and local governments, in boards of education and in the private sector.  Council 4 serves nearly 500 unions.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of AFSCME and their membership,” said Riley. “I look forward to working with AFSCME Council 4 on delivering fair contracts, decent wages and benefits for the members.  The rights of employees and the ability to have a safe and equitable work environment are of the utmost importance to me.”
