CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) — A West Haven man has been arrested and charged with kicking his girlfriend's dog to death.
The Middletown Press reports that Cromwell police say Lynx Tribuce said he was upset with his girlfriend and that he kicked the Chihuahua when it wouldn't stop barking. He was charged with cruelty to animals.
The 5.8-pound dog died before Cromwell's animal control officer and police arrived at a home responding to a call about an injured dog.
A veterinarian says the dog died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Tribuce was released on $20,000 bail.
A phone number could not be found for Tribuce and it was not known Thursday morning if he is represented by a lawyer.
Mitt Romney and other conservatives have called for the end of government subsidies to public broadcasting. Do you think tax dollars should go to PBS and NPR?
