Norwich — A 36-year-old Jewett City man was charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun as well as with drug and larceny charges when police officers responded to 73 Norwich Ave. just before 6 p.m. Friday and located Kennedy, who had three active arrest warrants, according to a press release from police Sgt. Patrick Mickens.

Gregory T. Kennedy, of 32 Russell St., Jewett City, was also charged with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, first-degree larceny and second-degree larceny.

The warrants were based on an investigation by the Norwich Police Department Detective Division that has been ongoing since March.

Kennedy was taken into custody and was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond pending his arraignment at Norwich Superior Court Nov. 1.

Norwich police ask that anyone with information about the ongoing investigation call (860) 886-5561 or the anonymous tip line at ext. 500.
