If Norwich does not approve the building of a new police station now, it will only become a bigger burden on the taxpayers later. I've asked questions and examined the facts. The current police station is woefully inadequate and has been since the 1990s. I don't want to compromise on public safety. It will eventually cost us and our children even more. This economy means; historically low bonding costs, extremely low bids for materials and construction, and this project could mean local construction jobs. The $33 million cost estimate is a worst-case scenario. This cost estimate doesn't consider any of the possible grants it could qualify for, if approved. We should solve this problem now before the price goes up beyond our reach. Now is the time; vote yes on the Police Headquarter Bond, Question 2, for a safer Norwich.
