There was about a 10-year period from the mid-'90s to the mid-'00s where comedian Chris Tucker was irrepressible and inescapable.
Emerging from the haze of pot smoke in "Friday," Tucker went on to gain international fame in the entertaining "Rush Hour" films. As Det. James Carter, he provided comic kicks to co-star Jackie Chan's actual kicks.
The last "Rush Hour" picture came out in 2007, and since then, Tucker has kept a low public profile - until recently. Starting in 2011, Tucker returned to the stand-up stage, where he got his start.
Tucker will also make his return to the movies next month, starring alongside Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro in director David O. Russell's latest film, the already-acclaimed "The Silver Linings Playbook."
