Valuing Each Neighbor

Madison Community Service, Inc. (MCS), is currently holding its annual fund drive and I would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support we receive from the residents, businesses, and non-profits here in town. MCS does not receive federal, state, or local funding and your readers' help is vitally important to the continued success of the essential services we offer our neighbors.

MCS provides medical transportation, summer camp scholarships, back-to-school supplies, holiday food baskets three times a year, a food pantry, emergency financial assistance, and so much more.

The MCS Food Pantry located on Mungertown Road continues to meet the growing needs of our neighbors. We have met this challenge by expanding our services three times in the last five years. We now distribute roughly 9,600 pounds of food each month, which translates to more than 7,400 meals to families in need. We are responsible for acquiring both the food that is offered and the volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the dignity of those who need this service.

In 2011 we initiated our newest program that provides tutoring services to students attending Daniel Hand and Polson.

We are proud to offer all our services because we care deeply for our community and value each neighbor who lives here. We could not do it without your readers' help. On behalf of the MCS Board of Directors, I want to express our deep gratitude to those who support our efforts.
