The courthouses on Huntington Street and Broad Street in New London remain closed today because they have no electricity.

Arraignments of newly-charged defendants in criminal cases from the area are being handled at the GA21 courthouse in Norwich. Those who need to apply for domestic violence restraining orders should go to the civil clerk’s office at the Norwich courthouse.

Emmet L. Cosgrove, administrative judge for the judicial district, said the New London courthouses are equipped with generators but they are not sufficient to open the buildings to the public. For the latest information, check the Judicial Branch Website, at www.jud.ct.gov or follow the Judicial Branch on Twitter @CTStateCourts.
